6. Are whistleblowers protected by law?
Yes, whistleblowers are protected by the whistleblower act 720 of 2006.
7. WHat should I do if I fear retaliation?
1. Report to the police. 2. Document evidence of retaliation and report to the nearest police station.
8. What is the process after reporting?
1. CEPIL will acknowledge receipt after receiving a report. 2. Those reports that fall within the mandate of CEPIl will as far as possible be addressed directly by CEPIl 3. CEPIL will however forward those that relate to other organization’s mandate for their attention.
